For
those of you that don't know, THE CHAMP BAND was a rock and roll
band from Bismarck North Dakota from 1980 to 1985. The band played
all over the midwest and became very popular wih the club scene.
The
band featured David Swenson, (guitar/vocals), Mike Glatt, (bass/vocals),
Mark Knoll, (guitar/vocals), Dean Weisser, (drums/vocals) and Perry
Rask,(sax/keys/flute/vocals).
It
was a great time for the bar scene in Bismarck. The bars included
"The Sports Page", "The Front Page", "The
Pla-Mor Club", "Crumlys", "The Midway Club",
"Watsons", "The Longhorn" to mention a few.
The band played rock, classic rock, country rock and originals.
There were times when the band would play 6 nights a week, 13 weeks
in a row before they had time off.
THE CHAMP
BAND also was the studio "house band" at Tri-Art Productions
where they recorded numerous projects including jingles, industrial
music and original recordings.

in the studio, Halloween at the Midway with tuxes and limos, body
bowling, The Champ Band Movie, (5 Live Men), New Years Eve at the
Midway, Champ ski trips, The Champ Band Christmas Celebration, the
radio ads, the great crowds andThe Champ Band Talent Contest.

BAND was also voted "The number one all time local area rock
band" by listeners of 101.5 in Bismarck in 2004.
